Artist Porky's
Porky’s launched an entire decade of teen-catering films, but few of its followers were willing to go as far as Porky’s was in terms of raunchiness. (Not surprisingly, Howard Stern’s production company is plotting a re-make.) Whether you think the story—about a group of high-school boys attempting to lose their virginity—is sexism, juvenile comedy at its best, or just flat-out gross, you can’t argue with results: Porky’s is the highest-grossing Canadian film of all time. (Good going, Canada.) And, anyway, Bob Clark’s script was based on actual occurrences at two Florida high schools, so it’s arguably a testament to how bizarrely awkward being a teenager can actually be.
