Artist Prizzy Prizzy Please

What kind of music does Prizzy Prizzy Please play? "We have no idea. And we don't care," boasts the Chicago quartet's bio, and it's hard not to agree after spending any amount of time with the band's music. Purposefully, but not cloyingly, unpredictable, Prizzy Prizzy Please gleefully slides from genre to genre so much that listening to its entire output from track to track feels a lot like sliding around on the radio dial. In any particular song, a cock-rock intro could give way to a gouging saxophone solo, or a bed of synths could be drizzled with finger-tapped riffs. There won't be much time to stroke chins to sort it out. PPP's latest, Chroma Cannon, proves to be just as intentionally baffling, if not more so, than its predecessors.
