Pyroklast
Hardcore punk is a much more diverse genre than a lot of folks realize at first: It can be catchy, fun, melodic, and technically complex, incorporating outside sounds and a broad range of attitudes. And if you’re Madison band Pyroklast, it can also offer some of the most unrepentantly fucking nasty, gut-level expression this side of an axed-open ribcage. That said, it’s not easy to hold together thrashing crust-punk songs like Pyroklast’s contributions to 2010’s The Last Line Of Resistance, a split 12-inch with Appleton, Wisconsin hardcore band Wartorn. The band should have lots more material to rip through, having just finished recording a new full-length for Italian label Agipunk.
