Quietdrive
Minneapolis quintet Quietdrive’s 2006 major-label debut, When All That’s Left Is You, teamed the band with producer Butch Walker of Pink, Avril Lavigne, and Tommy Lee fame, and the results were pretty much what you’d expect: big guitars, lots of whoa-ohs, lyrics about unrequited love, and a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” that seemed tailor-made for high-school dances. Making a commercial record doesn’t automatically make you a commercial success, however, and Epic Records ended up dropping the band. But Quietdrive rebounded with indie label The Militia Group, which released 2008’s Deliverance and the band’s new self-titled album.
