Artist Radical Dads

Coming crusted over with feedback, Radical Dads’ debut full-length Mega Rama conveys the easy joy of similarly fuzzed-out ’90s rock. Pulling some instant name recognition with Robbie Guertin (of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah) on drums, the real meat and potatoes of Dads’ sonic soup comes from Lindsay Baker’s ringing voice and her guitar interplay with Chris Diken. Baker’s distorted yelp climbed to the front of the mix on “Recklessness,” which is impressive considering all the layers to skuzzy fun it has to get through. But the effects-laden instrumentation can just as easily create open spaces, as on the expansive blast of newest single “Walking Wires.”
