Reflection Eternal

In the 10 years since rapper-producers Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek released their sole album as Reflection Eternal, both have sustained promising, if anticlimactic, careers in hip-hop. Kweli, particularly—who teamed with Mos Def in Black Star before Reflection Eternal—has teetered on the edge of mainstream success for years, working with everyone from Kanye to Common to Justin Timberlake. Excitement about the reunion of Hi-Tek and Kweli is well-founded, given the instant appeal of their 2000 release, Train Of Thought, particularly classic tracks like “Move Somethin'.” The duo appears here behind a long-awaited follow-up, Revolutions Per Minute, which finally sees release on May 18.
