Reggie Watts

Stepping onstage with little more than a loop pedal and an impressive vocal range, Reggie Watts twirls music, comedy, and absurdist theatrics into a dizzying hybrid. His improvised amalgam of beatboxing, snippets of character monologues, and slow-motion pantomimes might jar audiences if he didn’t make them feel so strangely familiar. For many years, Watts worked his way up the ladder of New York’s alt-comedy circles, eventually securing a name-making gig opening Conan O’Brien’s Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour and recording a live LP at Jack White’s Third Man Records. He’s really hit the big time now, with a brand-new Comedy Central special filmed live in Central Park and a gig as the wisecracking musical sideman on Scott Aukerman’s upcoming IFC series Comedy Bang Bang.
