Revocation

Formed in the early ’00s under the unfortunate moniker Cryptic Warning, in 2006 Revocation cut metaphorical ties with its past and began recording even more solidly intricate metal. The band is led by guitarist, songwriter and vocalist David Davidson, who found time between shredding to study jazz at Berklee College of Music. The group—which also includes bassist Anthony Buda and drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne—made a strong statement with 2008’s Empire Of The Obscene and followed that up with the even headier Existence Is Futile. 2011 saw the release of Chaos Of Forms on Relapse records.
