Artist Richard Cheese And Lounge Against The Machine
Richard “Dick” Cheese burst onto the music scene in 2000 by converting songs such as Nirvana’s “Rape Me” into traditional pop vocal standards and has continued with the same shtick ever since, racking up several more albums (including last year’s studio LP O.K. Bartender and the new, Live At The Royal Wedding) of humorously defanged pop, rock, and rap hits. After selling out numerous shows, landing interviews on CNN and Howard Stern, and popping up with his own category on VH1’s Rock & Roll Jeopardy, Cheese has semi-retired, supposedly because of, in part, vocal-chord problems. But, ever the showman, Cheese is leading his Lounge Against The Machine band at a handful of dates across the U.S. and England.
