Rob Delaney

Some comedians consider Twitter a promotional tool only, while others have no problem giving away their comedy, so long as it spreads their mirth. Few are better at this than Rob Delaney, who uses his @robdelaney handle to write multiple jokes a day, each more outrageous than the last. Delaney’s sense of humor is uniquely and beautifully macabre; he delights in the contradiction of absolute innocence and perversion. Folks are starting to notice, as Comedy Central has given Delaney his own Twitter-inspired variety show. There’s depth to him, too, past the pussy jokes and fake Obama retweets. He’s a vocal feminist, and openly shares the personal setbacks that ground his high-wire act. As far as the stand-up, Delaney is a master at toying with the format of joke-telling, and he lets his big heart shine through otherwise vulgar punch lines. Expect to be charmed and disgusted simultaneously.
