Artist Robin And Linda Williams And Their Fine Group
Country-music mainstays Robin and Linda Williams could be mistaken as insightful citizens of Lake Wobegon, the fictional Minnesota town from which Garrison Keillor reports the news weekly on the public radio’s A Prairie Home Companion. The duo was featured on the program just after their first record was released in 1975 and have been frequent guests ever since, gaining them an audience with Grand Ole Opry listeners and appreciators of Townes Van Zandt alike. Armed with acoustic guitars, they deliver high-energy performances of economic songs that celebrate depression and love with the same heartfelt honesty. Throughout its more than 30-year career, the duo has released albums steadily, the most recent of which chronicles the life of the infamous Confederate general Stonewall Jackson.
