Artist Rodrigo Y Gabriela

Rodrigo Y Gabriela are a big draw on the world-music circuit, which helps explain how the Mexican-born guitarists attract festival-size crowds in their adopted homeland of Ireland. Like a young Andrés Segovia with just a touch of Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Rodrigo is a master of nylon-string classical picking. Coupled with rock-solid rhythm guitarist Gabriela, he’s explored the length and breadth of Latin jazz and modern flamenco. The duo is currently touring in support of a new album, Area 52, which was recorded with a 13-piece Cuban orchestra.
