Rosanne Cash

A strong country singer who’s outlasted her novelty status as Johnny’s daughter, Rosanne Cash has made an impressive string of albums dating back to the late ’70s. After teaming with eventual ex-husband Rodney Crowell, she started a chart-storming rise that has made her best-of discs solid from start to finish. Though country is obviously her chief legacy, she’s ranged widely and confidently across genres, making strong albums all the way through 2006’s Black Cadillac, before she was sidelined by surgery for a brain condition from which she’s now recovered. Her latest disc, 2009's The List, collects covers pulled from a list of 100 classic country songs Johnny carefully compiled for his daughter’s education when she was 18.
