Sandra Bernhard

Sandra Bernhard

After cutting her teeth as a stand-up at New York's The Comedy Store in the '70s, Sandra Bernhard quickly gained prominence during the '80s and '90s in a succession of movies and TV roles, playing everything from a stalker in Martin Scorsese's The King Of Comedy to one of the first openly lesbian characters on television in Roseanne. Not that work on the big and small screens slowed down her other efforts: She also found time to pose for Playboy, release a string of music and comedy CDs, and also write and perform a variety of one-woman shows. And on top of all that, as Bernhard recently pointed out on a news interview, she'd like to remind her fans that she's a "major Twitter-er."
