Secret Colours

Chicago’s Secret Colours might not be doing anything new with drugged-out psychedelia, but hot damn, they’re doing a bang-up job of what they are doing. Combining the rambling style of Syd Barrett and the intense drone of Spiritualized, this band’s so good we can almost forgive the pretentious extra “u” in the Midwestern act’s name. The band’s debut came out in Summer of 2010 and was beloved in the media. After releasing a series of digital singles, including a cover of The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows,” Secret Colours have teamed up with Iron And Wine producer Brian Deck to record the new EP3 (celebrating its release with this show). Judging by the two tracks online, “Faust” and “Legends Of Love,” this record’s going to be a real trip.
