Semi Precious Weapons play glam-rock, emphasis on the glam. When he’s not strutting around on stage, frontman Justin Tranter designs jewelry and has helped turned a shy teen into a “rock star” as a coach on MTV’s Made. His New York band found its glittery match opening for Lady Gaga, who gets an executive producer credit on the new You Love You (the follow-up to 2008’s We Love You). As the opening track, “Semi Precious Weapons,” says, “I can’t pay my rent but I’m fucking gorgeous.”
