Artist Seu Jorge

Seu Jorge is a pop star in his native Brazil, but he’s several thousand times more likely to be known here for his stint playing Portuguese-language David Bowie covers in The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. There’s no telling exactly what director Wes Anderson was going for in the film, but Jorge’s hearty, breezy covers on classical guitar were nothing if not pleasant. On his own terms, Jorge hews a touch more raw and tough, even when he’s singing over the lightest accompaniment.
