Artist Shapers

Chicago’s Shapers haven’t been around for all that long, but their sonic squalls are starting to make waves all over the local scene. Featuring members of The Hood Internet and May Or May Not, the band’s blend of atmospheric art rock with tribal percussion takes listeners on a trippy journey into the twisted world of modern psychedelia. Their 2010 debut, Little, Big, conjured up Of Montreal-style spasms, while their Virginia Reel 7-inch, out last fall on Whistler (as in the bar) Records was flush with both soft, warm synthesizers and thrashing cymbals.
