Artist Shwayze

If you’ve never heard of Shwayze, odds are you’re not a 16-year-old girl. The Malibu rapper—like so many modern celebrities in this backward-ass culture—managed to turn his search for stardom into actual stardom with the short-lived MTV “reality” series Buzzin’, which followed Shwayze’s attempts to break into the industry with the help of well-connected Whitestarr singer/socialite-diddler Cisco Adler. Despite a middling debut with songs as shallow and contrived as the show itself, Shwayze and Adler managed to rope in proven talent like Snoop Dogg, Ric Ocasek, and The Knux for the follow-up, Let It Beat, which unfortunately did little to mess with the established formula. Perhaps that’s why the new Islands In The Sun was unable to attract the same star power, topping out with a guest spot from a member of LMFAO.
