Sick Of It All
Sick Of It All has remained doggedly aggressive, which befits a band that helped forge metallic, tough-guy New York hardcore in the ’80s with its classic debut, Blood, Sweat And No Tears. The band’s mainstream breakthrough, 1994’s Scratch The Surface, left many fans bitter, but Sick Of It All’s cred rebounded when the band signed to Fat Wreck Chords in the late ’90s. Since then, SOIA has cemented itself as a bedrock of the hardcore scene—not to mention the subject of a tribute album, Our Impact Will Be Felt, featuring everyone from vets like Napalm Death and Sepultura to offspring such as Walls Of Jericho and Rise Against. More than two decades into its career, SOIA is still going strong, putting out its ninth album, Based On A True Story, in 2010, and recently touring in support of the just-releasedNonstop, a collection of rerecorded classics celebrating the band’s 25th anniversary.
