Sid And Nancy

Twenty years after its debut, Alex Cox’s Sex Pistols biopic Sid And Nancy is, like the band it portrays, both entertaining and charmingly dated. Bright spots abound, including Gary Oldman’s star-making turn as the dope-on-dope Sid Vicious, and Chloe Webb’s impossibly annoying take on the impossibly annoying Nancy Spungen. Although it’s ultimately depressing, Sid And Nancy is gleeful about getting there, demystifying the sex, drugs, and punk-rock mythos in one fell swoop.
