Sigur Rós: Inni

Filmed on tour in 2008 and directed in black and white by Vincent Morisset, who’s previously worked with Arcade Fire, INNI presents Sigur Rós stripped down to just its four members with no orchestration, but also at its most powerful. The set runs the length of the band’s discography, though it pulls heavily from the band’s latest two releases, Takk... (2005) and Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust (2008). If INNI strikes your concert-film sweet spot, it hits streets as a DVD later this month accompanied by an expanded two-disc recording of the concerts from which the film was pulled. In a recent interview promoting the film, the band announced it was finally recording again, making INNI a good warm-up for the band’s return sometime next year.
