Artist Sonoi

Sonoi’s frontman, Adam Busch, was hard to pin down musically even when he was at the helm of Manishevitz, another Chicago indie-rock band. Fortunately for the other two members in Sonoi—Ryan Hembrey and Pierce Doerr—whatever Busch is doing now works, as evidenced by “Cotton,” the first single off of the band’s new record, Tropics Of Holland. It’s rambling and rolling, simultaneously embracing alt-country and bedroom pop. More important, it’s charming and catchy, which is all you can really ask of a song (or of a songwriter).
