Former frontwoman for The Distillers and known paramour of rock gods, Brody Dalle is back for real with Spinnerette. Dalle and her new outfit—which includes fellow Distiller Tony Bevilacqua and guitarist Alain Johannes, from husband Josh Homme’s group Queens Of The Stone Age—have been around for a little while now. The group’s split from Sire records slowed their debut album’s progress, but circulated songs like “Valium Knights” pointed to a more garage-heavy sound starting last year, with Dalle’s craggy, sexy voice smoothed out just a smidge since her Distillers days. Spinnerette’s self-titled debut just came out on the label Anthem.
