Stevie Wonder
It might be tempting to dis Stevie Wonder for selling a ringtone version of his musical Hallmark card “I Just Called To Say I Love You” on his website, but that would be pretty inhuman in the context of an artist whose worst commercial boondoggles (“Ebony And Ivory” anyone?) even overflow with an untiring sense of optimism, generosity, and love. Wonder’s most recent album, 2005’s A Time To Love, was just so-so, but there’s always a good chance he’ll drop classics like “Superstition,” “Higher Ground,” “Sir Duke,” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours.”
