Stiff Little Fingers

Amongst those that gave the year 1977 a legacy, Stiff Little Fingers continue to flick off The Man. Punk may not be a young buck, but these old war horses can still shred like the dickens. Breaking things off in ’83, SLF regrouped in ’87 and have tried their best to stay afloat ever since. They’ve even been around long enough to see drifters return to the fold, like original bassist Ali McMordie who left and has since returned. Though some of the current members haven’t been around since the band’s inception, the collective sound is still rough and teetering on New Wave. Bandleader Jake Burns recently broke the news that a new album will hit by the end of the year. A politically charged first single, “Full Steam Backwards,” shows they haven’t missed a beat.
