Stink Tank

MC Laduma Nguyuza and producer Man Mantis of Madison hip-hop powerhouse Dumate take surreal side trips in Stink Tank, which exists in a weird little comic-book world populated by a few of Nguyuza's different rapper personas. The project's vague narrative kicked off with the great 2008 albumBooks On Tape, on which Dudu Stinks' clever tangles of flow alternate with baritone gangsta ding-dong Jimmy French Fries and a nasally Minnesotan wannabe-MC named Billy Buffalo. Nguyuza's all-purpose rhyme skills and Mantis' adventurous but always tight production makes it all hold together nicely live.
