Strike Anywhere
Strike Anywhere’s relationship with Fat Wreck Chords was a short-lived one: After releasing one album (2006’s Dead FM) on the San Francisco punk label, the band has since moved to the Boston-based Bridge 9 Records for its fourth album, 2009's Iron Front. The record works for the same reason the previous three have: Thousands of other bands have played the style, but few do it with as much passion, force, and sincerity as Strike Anywhere. The group’s unrepentantly earnest lyrics are big on up-with-people-down-with-fascism sloganeering, and the music itself favors the thoroughly reductive melodic posi-core devised by oldies such as Dag Nasty and Gorilla Biscuits.
