Superdrag
Tennessee's Superdrag rode the major-label roller coaster for a few years, scoring a minor hit with 1996’s “Sucked Out,” a song that wasn’t particularly representative of its catalog. That meant no follow-up hit, and a virtual disappearance from the public consciousness. None of that stopped Superdrag from recording more fine power-pop albums though, including In The Valley Of Dying Stars and Last Call For Vitriol. Singer and chief songwriter John Davis, like many before him, eventually found Jesus, and the band went on hiatus while he pursued a career in spiritual rock ’n’ roll. Apparently the conversion didn’t completely take, as Superdrag reunited in 2007 and released Industry Giants in March 2009.
