In terms of recorded material, Suzanna Choffel was entirely quiet between the release of 2006’sShudders And Rings and its follow-up, the newSteady Eye Shaky Bow. On the live front, however, the duskily voiced singer-songwriter was nearly ubiquitous—anyone who went to Momo’s during that five-year period is likely already familiar with jazz-inflected Steady Eye Shaky Bow numbers like “Raincloud” and “Archer.” Following the release of that record, Choffel is enjoying plenty of success in her hometown of Austin—but with radio listeners across the nation seeking more smoky vocal puffs from the likes of Adele, Choffel and Steady Eye Shaky Bow may be poised for a major breakthrough.
