Artist Tartufi

San Francisco duo Tartufi has evolved from lush, odd pop to songs so elaborate and awash in drama that they could be part of some heavily encrypted rock opera. The pair's 2009 release Nests Of Waves And Wire continues the vibrant experimentation of 2006’s Us Upon Buildings Upon Us, building a net of shifting polyrhythms and tempo-shifting guitar rock. Like its predecessor, Nests demands (and rewards) concentration and close listening to unlock its delights.
