Terror

Terror

Los Angeles’ Terror plays an unabashedly retro style of hardcore, where “progress” is signified by the pursuit for speedier riffs and greater heights of fist-pumping anthemics. Working in the metal-edged tradition of Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front, the members of Terror branded themselves in 2010 with the title of their Reaper Records-issued release as Keepers Of The Faith; its tracks are uniformly drop-tuned hymns of cathartic, old-school-hardcore release, all with a good beat you can spin-kick to. Vocalist Scott Vogel isn’t beyond barking out “stay posi” sermons, but he does so with a sense of humor that wouldn’t cause Terror’s predecessors to turn away in cringing self-righteousness. A new album, Live By The Code, is due out sometime in 2012.
