Tesla

Tesla gets grouped in with the hair-metal bands of the late ’80s and early ’90s, but it was always a grittier, bluesier outfit than the Poisons and Motley Crües of the world. After scoring in 1989 with “Love Song,” one of the better power ballads of the era, Tesla pioneered the “unplugged” format withFive Man Acoustical Jam, which spawned another hit single, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band’s anti-establishment ode, “Signs.” After that, Tesla disappeared from the charts and subsequently took the rest of the ’90s off after 1994’s Bust A Nut. Reunited since 2000, Tesla has continued to record and tour, releasing a new studio album, Forever More, in 2008 and 2011’s Twisted Wires & The Acoustic Sessions, a collection of new and old tracks that features the last recordings made with original guitarist Tommy Skeoch.
