Testament

Testament emerged during metal’s mid-’80s peak and fits the mold with thrashy guitars, a dour outlook, and Chuck Billy’s rough, appropriately satanic voice. The passing of time hasn’t really changed the group’s sound, as it continues to pump out the same whipping hard rock it always has. Despite unfavorable Metallica comparisons, Testament never stopped putting out records; its most recent album is 2008’s The Formation Of Damnation, the band’s first collection of all-original material since 1999’s The Gathering.
