The Championship

Coming after 2005’s Dance Casador! and 2008’s Midnight Golden, The Championship’s 2009 EP, Moving At The Speed Of Darkness, was recorded relatively quickly by the rootsy, alt-countryish rockers. Beginning with the arena-made modern rock of “The Sword,” Moving definitely had an epic feel, and hinted at an even more ambitious full-length follow-up. To date, that follow-up is still waiting in the wings. Some lineup changes and sporadic shows seemed to derail The Championship for a few years, though singer-songwriter Joe Crockett and company are reportedly working on a long-awaited new album.
