The Church

The Church

The members of The Church were already alt-rock vets by the time they had a hit with “Under The Milky Way,” which makes the band’s continued existence two decades later that much more impressive. The three main guys—Steve Kilbey, Marty Willson-Piper, and Peter Koppes—are present and accounted for, and while they’ve never been able to match the creative or commercial heights of 1988’s Starfish, they continue to make melodically moody records that their fans highly anticipate, including their latest, 2009’s Untitled #23. The group’s been touring on a series of gimmicks for the past few years, and its 2011 jaunt’s no different. This time, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, the band will be performing three albums—Untitled #23Priest=Aura, and Starfish—in their entirety each night.
