The Cure
The Cure has been around for so long and recorded so many songs, it’s possible to spend a couple of hours listening to Robert Smith’s band and still not understand where it’s coming from. Sure, Smith is considered goth’s godfather for a reason, but hits like “Friday I’m In Love” and “The Lovecats” certainly don’t share the same sonic space as songs like “Fascination Street” and “A Forest.” The disparate discography means that shows can be crapshoots, but The Cure has proven it has plenty of life left, especially now that keyboardist Roger O’Donnell has returned.
