The Features
The Features took the long road to rock ’n’ roll. They debuted in 1997 as a Tennessee new-wave band before morphing into an Elephant 6-influenced pop band, and then, finally, into a rollicking art-rock outfit. Still, The Features’ songs never ring false: Their albums, from their full-length debut, Exhibit A, to 2011’s Wilderness, radiate pure fun. Despite being around for so long, The Features still aren’t a household name—but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a look. Give “Content” off of Wilderness a shot: It’s infectiously trippy without losing control, so taut and purposeful in its hooks it requires multiple listens.
