Artist The Figgs

  • The Figgs Tim Ditzman

The Figgs have a kindred spirit in under-appreciated Graham Parker, the brilliant pub-rock veteran who the band has backed up since 1996. Originally from Saratoga Springs, New York, The Figgs whip up an exciting and sloppy incarnation of pop, rock, and punk similar to The Replacements’ best work, though their highest profile moment may have come opening for Tommy Stinson, becoming his backing band, and having him contribute to their 2004 album, Palais. Despite not getting the credit they deserve for churning out intelligent and hooky music since 1987, The Figgs have persevered and continued to release wondrous rock records like The Man Who Fights Himself and the new The Day Gravity Stopped.
