The Frames

The Frames, a wildly influential Irish folk rock group, laid dormant for the past five or so years while bandleader Glen Hansard focused on his side project/film tie-in The Swell Season. Following a triumphant return to the stage at Ireland’s Electric Picnic 2010, The Frames have come stateside for a brief survey of America before returning to Europe for a stretch of sold-out homecoming shows in celebration of their 20th anniversary as a band. The Frames’ decade-spanning career has influenced legions of folk rockers on both sides of the Atlantic, with much of the credit owed to Hansard’s emotional vocal stylings and often intensely personal songwriting. While no new recordings are on the immediate horizon, The Frames’ pedigree alone is worth a tour of its own.
