The Giving Tree Band

Headed up by brothers Todd and Eric Fink, The Giving Tree Band puts out nimble, melodic folk jams that invoke images of front-porch family jams. The band is grassroots not only in its music, but in the member’s lifestyles—they’re staunch environmentalists who play instruments made from found and reclaimed wood, use sustainable CD packages, and record in a carbon-neutral studio. On 2010’s The Joke, The Threat, And The Obvious, the band strummed along to odes about moonlight ladies, hard times, and getting boxed in by the county line. With just enough rock ’n’ roll sensibility to draw in those who don’t rush to folk festivals or the fiddle, TGTB appeals to a broader range of music lovers.
