The Go! Team

English indie rockers The Go! Team provide plenty of youthful energy with their exuberant, sloppy, hook-injected pop, as heard on the group’s breakout debut, Thunder, Lightning, Strike—an adrenaline-and-sucrose-fueled concoction of garage rock, soundtrack samples, and chant-along choruses. Following a bit of a sophomore stumble with 2007’sProof Of Youth—really, anything was going to be a letdown in the wake of the near-perfect debut—The Go! Team has returned to its multi-culti cheerleader-pop form with the new Rolling Blackouts, featuring collaborations with Deerhoof’s Satomi Matsuzaki and Beth Cosentino of Best Coast.
