The Goodnight Loving

How cool is it that one of Milwaukee's best rock 'n' roll outfits is also one of its most prolific? The Goodnight Loving has been putting out an album about every year since its 2006 debut Cemetery Trails, and all of them rank among the greatest records to come out of Milwaukee in the last several years. The band's latest, the wonderfully titled The Goodnight Loving Supper Club, continues the winning streak while also appreciably moving the group's music forward. GNL's allegiance to punked-up late '50s pop-rock remains as steadfast as ever, but this is the band's twangiest record yet, with songs like "It's A Long Way In A Bad Way" charging forward with drunk-ass honky-tonk abandon.
