The Hussy

Bobby and Heather Hussy rock a death grip on the keys to perfectly sharp and snotty trash rock tunes and they use them to unlock maximum harshed-out potential on each jam. On 2012’s excellent (and wonderfully named) Weed Seizure, Bobby shreds distorted hooks and gnarly solos while Heather mercilessly slams her drum kit for purposes of menace (“Undefined”), bratty fun (“I Don’t Really Want To”), and wild times (“Stab Me”). It’s a huge leap forward from 2011’s Cement Tomb Mind Control—also a fantastic record—and it serves a raging mission statement for one of Madison’s best, most insane and insanely catchy rock ’n’ roll bands.
