The Hussy
Heather Sawyer and Robert Wegner used to play in the gratuitously loud and catchy Madison group Cats Not Dogs. Their current band, The Hussy, collides Wegner’s garage-rock riffage, Sawyer’s considerable drum-pummeling skills, and playfully obnoxious vocals from both. Wegner recently moved back from San Francisco to Middleton just as The Hussy’s newest record, Cement Tomb Mind Control, is getting an official release on Chicago’s Slow Fizz. CTMC’s short, sharp blast of garage rock makes excellent use of its breezy 21-minute runtime, speedily rattling off well-built rippers like “I’m Me” and “Pavement.”
