Artist The Kissers

  • the kissers

Coming out of retirement in 2010 after an extended hiatus, Irish rock tumblers The Kissers are back at it and once again a fixture of St. Patrick’s Day in Madison. It’s been a while since the bunch held down Mondays as the house band at O’Cayz Corral, and the blurry heyday of similar Celtic stompers like Flogging Molly has long passed, but The Kissers’ indie-rock sensibilities imbue an evergreen shade that carries the band well past March 17. Insisting it’s just a bar rock band that learned Irish music, the group breaks out enough traditional sonic weaponry and manic energy to cheer up Irish-folk enthusiasts and to keep the pissed-up on the dance floor.
