Anyone who's read longtime Minneapolis columnist Jim Walsh's work should have a good idea of what to expect from his music: earnest, soul-warming stories of love and life and lust. Given his infamous round-robin-style Hootenanny shows, it's no surprise that his second album under the name The Mad Ripple, Her Tattoos Could Sail Ships, is a communal affair packed with special guests, from Jayhawks bassist Marc Perlman to violinist Eliza Blue to production by singer-songwriter Stook.
