The Moody Blues

Swelling their early British Invasion sound into the string-drenched symphonics of “Nights In White Satin”—one of the most pretentious classic-rock songs ever, but a make-out classic just the same—The Moody Blues wavered between mellotron-drenched dreaminess and relatively hard-hewn R&B/rock. Now well past its sell-by date, the band’s output since 1999’s Strange Times has been limited to things such as the Christmas albumDecember and 2008’s nostalgia-riffic Live At The Isle Of Wight 1970.
