The Naked And Famous

The Naked And Famous

As MGMT’s soundalikes go, you can do far worse than The Naked And Famous’ anthemic “Punching In A Dream.” Lesser artists would be happy simply biting the buzzing low end or throbbing beat of “Kids,” but the Kiwis of The Naked And Famous expand both to cinematic proportions on “Punching In A Dream,” its urgency grounded in the push-pull vocals of co-bandleaders Thom Powers and Alisa Xayalith. With all their scene-scoring potential, their 2010 debut, Passive Me, Aggressive You, may as well be wrapped up in a bow and left on the doorstep of all CW-employed music supervisors.
