The New Deal

The New Deal

This is your last chance to see Toronto’s The New Deal, as they've announced this will be their final tour. The band spent their 12-year career straddling the line between dance music and the kind of jam-band improv that made the group’s popularity in San Francisco none too surprising. Working with an organ-bass-drums lineup, The New Deal cycles through tight house grooves and crusty diversions into fusion-land. The group’s last studio album is 2003’s Gone Gone Gone—which includes vocal contributions from Feist and Martina Sorbara—but the stage usually proves a better home, as shown on the various live discs that have followed, so get it while you can.
