The New Pornographers

Canadian collective The New Pornographers is what you’d call a top-heavy band. Led by three utterly astounding singer-songwriters—A.C. Newman, Destroyer’s Dan Bejar, and the illustrious Neko Case—the outfit has made a well-deserved name as peddler of the prickliest power-pop. While the band’s last few albums weren’t quite as serotonin-splashed as some of its predecessors, the hooks on its fifth full-length, Together, simmer with sweetness and bite.
